Porto was, without a doubt, one of the best travel destinations I could have chosen.

It’s not just a beautiful city, it’s a city you can feel. There’s a special energy in the streets, in the sounds, in the smells… and, above all, in the moments that stay with you long after the trip is over.

If you’re looking for what to do in Porto, let me show you a day that could easily be yours.

A Flavorful Start to the Day in PortoMy day started early, right in the heart of the city, at Bolhão Market.

Still half asleep, I was guided by a sweet aroma that was impossible to ignore. Among traditional stalls and local faces, I found what would become one of the best breakfasts of my trip: a hot coffee and a freshly baked pastel de nata.

Simple, authentic, perfect.

That’s when I realized that Porto is not a city to rush through.

Between Tiles and HistoryAfter breakfast, I headed to Capela das Almas. The blue tiles tell stories and make you stop, even if just for a moment.

From there, I walked to Praça da Batalha, where Porto begins to reveal its more imposing and lively side.

Discovering Porto at Your Own PaceI continued without rushing. I passed by Clérigos Tower, walked up steep streets, found hidden viewpoints and got lost in soulful narrow alleys.

And that’s where Porto becomes special: in the journey, not just in the landmarks.

A Different Way to Explore

At some point, I wanted to see more without losing the charm, and almost by chance, I came across a local guide from Green Tours.

The conversation started simply, but quickly turned into one of the best parts of my day. I decided to join an electric Tuk Tuk tour… and that’s when Porto truly came to life.

Between stories, viewpoints and hidden streets, I felt like I was discovering the city in a way I never could on my own.

Later, after the experience, I found the tour online, for anyone who wants to live the same: 👉 https://www.greentours.pt/porto-tours?re-product-id=311616

A Perfect End to the DayThe day ended in the best possible way.

I crossed the bridge towards Gaia and went up to Jardim do Morro following this great guide’s recommendation. The sun was slowly setting, painting the sky in shades of gold and orange.

Around me, people sitting on the grass, soft conversations…

And in the background, a local band was playing, not for a stage, but for anyone who wanted to stop and listen.

It was one of those simple moments… but absolutely perfect.

Porto Is Meant to Be LivedIf you are planning your trip and looking for what to do in Porto, the answer is simple:

don’t rush, live it!
